ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1st General Body Meeting: Wednesday, October 14th,
7:00pm-8:00pm, Peterson 108
"What is Emergency Medicine and
How Can I Learn More without Becoming a Patient?" For our first GBM we
have Dr. Gary Vilke from the UCSD Medical Center coming to talk about Emergency
Medicine and the EM Research Associate Program. You can pay dues and officers
will be there to answer any questions. Also, you will be able to sign up for
projects.
Food and Drinks are provided!
2nd General Body Meeting:
Wednesday, October 28th,
7:00pm-8:00pm, TBD
"What to know for being
a Pre-Med at UCSD"
For our second GBM, we have
Jamie Nye from Career Services coming in to talk about the application process
for getting into medical school including how to start preparing early on.
You can pay dues and officers will be there to answer any questions. Also, you
will be able to sign up for projects.

If you used PayPal on our website to pay for dues and had someone other than
yourself pay using a credit card (a parent perhaps?) then please email
Secretary Jenny to check that dues went under your name and not that of the
payee. Email Jenny at mjli@ucsd.edu with
your name and the name of the individual who paid for you.
UPCOMING VOLUNTEERING PROJECTS
HMP3 ANNUAL PRE-HEALTH FAIR

Monday, Oct. 12th, 5:00pm-8:00pm
PASS will be tabling at HMP3 7th annual Pre-Health Club Fair! All
Pre-health (especially all you pre-meds) will be introduced to the various
pre-health student organizations on campus, so don’t miss out on all the
opportunities available to students. Guest speakers from UCSD Medical School
and others will be there.
ROOM VISITS

Saturday, Oct. 24th, 1:30pm-4:00pm
Come spend time with the elderlies at Hyatt Classical Residence in La Jolla!
This project allows you to hang out and talk to elderlies and on this day they
have a special tea social. We are going to help serve tea and biscuits which
allows more personal one on one time. You wouldn’t want to miss this enjoyable
event as you can see how your presence can brighten up someone’s day!
LA JOLLA SHORES BEACH CLEANUP

Saturday, November 7th, 10:00am-12:00pm
Come out and help PASS keep La Jolla Shores clean and beautiful! Rides leave
from the Sun God Statue at 10 AM, gloves and trash bags will be provided. If
you have a car and wouldn't mind driving a few members, please let Ali know,
you will be reimbursed for gas! Hope to see you all there!
To join a project, you must email the event’s coordinator with a request
to be added to the list of attendees, or sign up with the coordinator at a
general body meeting.
If you have them, please don’t forget to wear your PASS
shirts to projects and socials!
