Hey Pass members,
This past friday night, a good number of our PASS officers and members took a break from studying for finals and headed to La Jolla Shores for a bonfire full of smores, games, and more. Robin, our president, brought some extra special wood from home that burned very well and we were able to enjoy a great big fire for a few hours. I don't know about the rest of you, but I know I would take a few roasted marshmallows and good conversation over a night with my organic chemistry textbook any day!

Greetings PASS members,
Last week our Project Coordinator Phildrich Teh and a group of members traveled south of the border to lend a helping hand at a Tijuana, Mexico community church. As many of you may or may not know, Mexico has recently become extremely dangerous due to a widespread drug-turf war. This has caused a great deal of hysteria and fear throughout Mexico, especially striking areas such as Tijuana. PASS members, by traveling down to help the less fortunate, even in a time of shaken politics and war, show dedication that is truly admirable. The children were given a great meal, warm blankets to take home, and most of all were simply played with and entertained. We need to always remember that "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” ~ Winston Churchill

Hello PASS members,
This past Friday night was extra special as a handful of our PASS officers, along with our beloved members, made their way to UTC for a night of ice skating and fun. Everyone had a great time and we had some unexpected but exceptionally strong skaters out there on the ice (officers Lisa Sugimori and Ronald Chang). PASS hopes to see many of its members attend future socials such as this one to come out and get to know fellow pre-meds rather than purely competing with them!

This event was a tremendous success and amazing night thanks to our social officer Izzy Tarantino who set it up. A handful of officers and numerous members were able to experience this exciting trail and have a few big scares to remind all of the pre-meds out there that there are scarying things in life than the MCATs. Ronald Chang, officer of PASS, reminisced on the event saying "the scariest part was when we were chased by a man holding a chain saw while we could smell the gasoline dripping off of it." =)
